Your portrait fully deserved the DD. It's very simple but there's so much about it that makes it stand out from other portraits. :)

Hi angle curls, could you tell me what you use for lighting in your portraits? What if any is your post production to produce such beautiful saturation? Thanks

why dont you use 50/1.8 instead of postwork-blur? it just doenst make any sense:)
Reply
:iconangelcurls:
angelcurls Featured By Owner Jan 12, 2008
it makes sense if your flash is just too bright to use a low stop. ;) plus, i prefer to decide later what im gonna do with the dof. it makes a lot sense if you think about it longer than you normally do. ;)

c'mon it looks like it was taken in a studio you could have moved the lights further...or just use the modelling lights, not the flashes!:)
anyway, postwork blur is so much work especially if you have more pictures to deal with, and most importantly, its fake:)
but it's your business, i dont want to offend you

well, you neither know the setting, nor the lights, nor anything. youre right, maybe it was even possible, but it wasnt meant to. this version was created completely out of the comissioned work and the idea to blur it i just got during the post work. beside, its not much work, its a 5min thing, even less and fake, well, i dont think its fake. as a photographer you have more possibilities, not only your camera, and everything you do is part of the process. ;)

Oh, my, GOD.
I love this so much you have no clue.
The model, the way it's shot and the tones all point to a very classic shot. Like, 1940's classic.
Beautiful.
